Buddhism was a largely practiced religion in the Qing dynasty. Monks where targeted during the Taiping
rebellion of China. Large amounts of monks were killed. Buddhism has been a largely practiced religion through
out China's history. Buddhism is seen not only as a religion for some, but as a way of life. Practiced from a
young age Buddhism occupied most of their lives. Buddhism was practiced in the Qing Dynasty throughout the
entire empire. It was practiced less after the Taiping leaders forced monks to have licenses to practice the
religion.
